Big Balls! SMART Goals!

Spread the love

SMART Goals setting is a good first step for setting successful goals. And it begins with having a clear vision of what you want in life. I am sure you already know this but because there are many ways to create SMART Goals, I wanted to reiterate: SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable (Realistic), Relevant (Trendy), and Time-bound. It is a pretty helpful framework for creating effective goals. Once the goal is set, following through with the task at hand and working toward that goal will ensure success in the long run.

To be successful, it is important to balance your goals. Set a goal and break it down into small achievable goals. Write each of your goals down and give them importance by setting a timeline for achievement. It is important to remember that the most important bit of achieving success is creating and having a clear vision and understanding of what you want out of life. This vision should be the cornerstone on which you build your life around.

However, clarifying your goals and building your plan of action are not enough to achieve success. You need to have the big balls to push through hardships and difficult times. It is important to be brave and have the courage to stand up for what you believe in. And fight tooth and nail to achieve your desirable outcome.

Specific – Simply Staying Clear

In order to follow through with your plans, you need to have a strategy in place. Start by writing down your goals; long term, short term and daily goals. Then create action plans to help you accomplish these goals.

It is important to reassess your goals several times throughout the process. Make sure they specify your desired outcome, and clearly state what will be done, when and by whom. So that anyone who reads it is able to understand it. This step makes it easier for a team, even for a one man team, to maneuver and manage their progress.

Measurable – Using the RRR Method

When creating action plans, it is important to think ahead and plan for the future. This includes setting key takeaways that will help you stay on track and reach these goals. It keeps you on track and on schedule.

You need to be able to measure the effectiveness of your strategies and actions. Review and figure out which strategies are helping you make progress. And which need to be either replaced or removed. This is why it is great to keep track of all your actions, costs and results.

Attainable – Understanding and realizing how things actually work

Your goals should be possible, in order to be achievable. And so that you can reach them, you need to set the best possible course of action. Outline the steps to follow and have the determination to complete each task day after day until it is accomplished. Practice mindfulness and self-awareness every step of the way.

Customize your plans with your lifestyle in mind. If your plan includes others, make sure you are aware of their strengths and weaknesses. So that you could take that into consideration. Do a SWOT analysis to help you determine which path you and your team should be taking.

This will ensure you are being realistic. And even though you will be stretching your resources and abilities, your goals will remain possible, and you will be successful.

Relevant – keep up with trends

When setting your goals, specifically when planning your actionable steps to reach desired milestones, make sure they fit into the bigger picture. Study the purpose of the goal “actionable step” carefully. Ask yourself if it fits into what you are trying to achieve, your ultimate vision. And if it fits the culture and structure of the community.

Timebound – duration and deadlines

Set deadlines for each step of the plan so you will have a timeline for when you and your team members should reach your goals. Because by setting precise dates, you are creating a realistic plan. Use the block and batch approach to achieve more and increase productivity.

Time blocking is a great way to force yourself to focus on one specific task and make sure it is completed. While batching similar tasks, makes sure you are checking tasks off your task board way faster. You don’t have to work more. Simply work more efficiently!

reward and success

Setting mini smart goals and milestones, can help you get better organized. When tasks are easier and in smaller portions, they are easier to complete. This makes it easier to follow through with set plans.

Every time you accomplish a goal, or reach a milestone, celebrate and reward yourself and your team members. Recognition and acknowledgment help promote healthy self image and positivity. And help keep you motivated and on track to reach the ultimate goal.
